DARIEN, Ga. (WTOC) - An inmate being held at the McIntosh County Detention Center has died, according to a news release from the McIntosh County Office of the Sheriff WTOC just received. The release states that, around 5:30 p.m. today, October 17, 2025, corrections staff at the McIntosh County Detention Center discovered an unresponsive inmate in their housing unit.

A man died Friday afternoon at the McIntosh County Detention Center. Corrections officers at the jail discovered Brandon Scott Crews, 36, unresponsive at around 5:30 p.m. on Friday and immediately began life-saving measures, according to information provided by the McIntosh County Sheriff’s Office.
